"Hellboy: The Crooked Man" Review
TL:DR I liked it a lot for what it tried to be without compromise.
Made by the same director who made Crank and Ghost rider: Spirit of vengeance. Hellboy: The Crooked man departs from all previous adaptations of the comics to lean into the folksy horror atmosphere found in several of the hellboy stories. Specifically diving into the Appalachian folk tale of the Crooked man and the witches who do his bidding. While the CGI isn't up to snuff with the likes of Del Toro and other fantasy movies, the uniqueness of the topic matter and story structure, like the random tutorial on how a witch curses someone with nothing more than sticks, mud and insects, makes Hellboy: The crooked man a memorable experience I hope more people will give a try.
