How to find DRM free storefronts and content?

TL:DR Google it and start clicking around

Quick intro: DRM is a type of technology used to lock down content that can otherwise be copied and managed to your standards. Easy example being buying an ebook on Amazon, the label calls it "buying" but the Terms of Service actually clarifies that you're renting a license to that digital book on amazon's servers which btw can only be accessed via their kindle application or website. If you wanna say, make a copy for your own hard drive or non amazon ereader, the implication is that you can go fuck yourself.

Not to worry though, in the vast open spaces of the internet there are still creators, storefronts and people wanting to let you keep what you pay for. That means getting an epub or pdf for an ebook or a full zip file of executables when you purchase a drm-free game.

When it comes to music, it's hard to beat:

When it comes to Videogames, Steam does offer some DRM-free games but you'd have to filter for it inside the search bar so it'll be included among better options:

There'll be other storefronts and aggregators that compile websites that sell drm free ebooks that I'll give a shoutout to so stay tuned.
