"Vanquish" Review
TL:DR I am Speed, with a gun
I fucking love this game so here's the set up. A rogue army commander has taken control of a massive Satellite base that could house two Manhattans and has declared war on Earth for the lols. He announces himself by erasing California off the map with a laser blast so we know he means business. We play Sam Giddeon, a Darpa scientist who goes in with the marines wearing this sexy piece of armor that will enable you glide faster than a ferrari at top speed.
Look at this armor and tell me it doesn't go hard, you can't as you'd be lying to yourself:
Throughout the game you're gonna take cover, dodge missiles and take on army soldiers, mad max style tanks and mini boss giant robots. Not to mention the genius upgrade system for your preferred weapons. Say your IQ is 3,000 and you decide to use the superior Laser Cannon.
You're already carrying the maximum ammo and see another laser cannon drop, upon picking up that laser cannon, your laser cannon upgrades in specs so it will need less time to cool off, does more damage, carries more ammunition and more. So keeping on eye out for excessive ammo drops for any load out you have in mind will be a major boost for you in the campaign. Don't worry about recognizing it as each weapon carries a color coded outline to help you spot them in the middle of battle.
Keep in mind, the campaign is very short and could be finished in 4 hours but is well worth it in my opinion.

And if you've already played this and would like a drm-free copy someday to own and forever keep, there's a voting board on GOG where assuming enough votes and stories are there, that will convince the original developers and publishers to post the game Vanquish on GOG allowing you to buy it and forever keep it.
